let's see how this goes....

Once upon a time there were two girls who lived on a house with a sunflower mailbox (with two other amazing girls who we might hear from in the future...). They were in college and had lots and lots of fun doing all the things you do at college, after all of your homework is done, of course.

Sadly, college came to an end and things started to get crazy like moving, working, being grown ups, etc. The two girls moved out of the lovely house with the sunflower mailbox and found themselves 400 miles apart.

We have still been doing lots of fun things, but are very very bad at talking on the phone. Luckily, they can now play together on the internet-sharing adventures, pictures, and stories with each other and all of you!

Ideally, people out there in internet space, maybe even people we know, hopefully our friends, hopefully not the people we write awkward stuff about, will read this blog regularly or occasionally. At this point, we are planning to write letter posts to each other back & forth on the topics that interest us the most like DIY projects, sewing, crafts in general, cooking (or cooking attempts), stuff we like that inspires us, and most likely many many tangents. You may not follow every anecdote, but you can always use your imagination to fill in the blanks.

We are not professional anythings, so most of the posts will be things we tackle for the first time. We’ll show you the good, the bad, and the ugly of the projects we attack. This blog is somewhat of a motivator, or something to be accountable to, to get our creative juices flowing and actually doing something about it. How many times have you said to yourself, “I wish I could hem my skirt myself!” or “I wish I could throw a dinner party and not poison the guests!” only to forget it a second later? Me, all the time (not really the poisoning part, though now that I think of it, things were a little iffy on the corned beef I had in brine for two weeks...).

Also, we’re both sort of awkward, so talking to each other will be a little easier than talking to nameless, faceless space. It’ll be kind of like you’re eavesdropping, which is kind of fun, right?! PLEASE feel free to comment, ask questions, give us tips or ideas of things to try if you would like and then you can give space a name and a face!

LOVE
